History

The origin of the University found in the name of the University College of South Wales and Monmouth shire in1883. In 1893. as a founding college, it became known as the University of Wales. In the year of 1997, the institute gained popularity with granting degrees to the students. In1988, It became collaborated with the renowned university, the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology. In 2005, the university is given its legal name Cardiff University.

It was then well-known as an independent university with the beginning of awarding degrees. Therefore, the institution is the third oldest university in Wales and the only Welsh member of the Russell Group of research-based universities. Cardiff University consists of 26 academic schools. The schools are categorized into three colleges named, College of Physical Sciences and Engineering, College of Arts & Humanities, College of Social Sciences, and the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences.
