Overview Ulster University

Ulster University (UU) is a renowned multi-campus university situated in Northern Ireland. Students from more than 80 different countries make it a one-place study. It is considered to be a highly-ranked public university and one of the top five universities in the UK for its extraordinary research activities. History of Ulster University

The origin of the Ulster University was found in 1984, named the New University of Ulster. Then, it amalgamated with Ulster Polytechnic in 1984. At that time it assimilated into four Northern Irish campuses situated in Belfast, Coleraine, Derry (Magee College), and Jordanstown. And another two branch campuses situated in London and Birmingham provide courses. This is the first university to launch degree-level programs and introduced online degree level courses in Biomedical Sciences. In 2001, 8 October the Virtual Campus of the university was launched. Interestingly the institutions’ previous laboratory name was ‘The University of Ulster Freshwater Laboratory’. In April 2012, the College Union (UCU) and branch of the Ulster University formally managed the declaration of university management “ UCU Declaration of Dispute” and implemented the recourse.

The Ulster University has four distinct faculties by following separate schools and departments. They are as follows:

Student Life of Ulster University

Ulster University’s Students’ Union (UUSU) is a mouthpiece of Students. It influences the lifestyle of students and builds up a supportive community that helps to raise students voice. All kinds of social events, counselling, entertainment, trips and activities are organized by UUSU. Therefore, the campus has a Sports Union constituted by 65 sports clubs where students can enjoy activities from archery to volleyball etc. It’s a big gathering of overseas students where they get an opportunity to introduce to new people, having fun and gaining valuable experience. Moreover, the institute organizes debating clubs, athletics, comic books, surfing everything students need, all in one place. The UUSU Volunteering Centre provides support to the local community or the Students’ Union. Living in Northern Ireland is peaceful and safe. Museums represent a place for safe reflection like at the Tower Museum, Derry/Londonderry. Therefore, students get traditional clothing, mild weather, and medical insurance for the duration of their stay.

The Ulster University provides both on-campus and off-campus facilities. Besides the private rented accommodation, students get suitable local university accommodation. Though private rented accommodation owned by a landlord, it costs affordable an apartment or a room in a shared house or flat. The university campuses are as follows:

Transport of Ulster University

Ulster students can travel from one place to another, study or business by using public transports. They do not need to worry about traffic and parking.
